Scope and information collected

This addendum describes information handled for the club’s SMS program. We collect the mobile number, member identity or account reference, selected message categories, consent or withdrawal date and method, consent wording or form version, and records supporting the selection. We also maintain message content and delivery information needed to operate and support the program. Verification codes are temporary security credentials and are not included in public consent evidence.

How information is used

We use this information to document consent, send authorized messages and requested verification codes, respond to inquiries, maintain preferences, process opt-outs, troubleshoot delivery, and protect the program from misuse. We do not use an MFA request as permission for promotional texts.

Mobile information and consent protection

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Sharing with subcontractors for support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other information-sharing categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or share SMS consent for another organization’s messaging program.

Safeguards and retention

We restrict access to SMS records to authorized personnel who need them to operate and support the program. We retain consent and message records as needed to document authorization, resolve inquiries, meet applicable recordkeeping obligations, and enforce opt-outs. We retain enough suppression information to avoid contacting a number that has opted out. We remove or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, subject to applicable obligations.

You may also contact michael@fredclub.org or (540) 373-1657 to request access to or correction of your SMS contact details or to update preferences. Withdrawing SMS consent does not cancel your membership. For this SMS program, this addendum controls over any inconsistent general policy language about marketing sharing.
